yankee_sweetie asked the question:

I’m just starting to learn of the many different Artists throughout history up to present time and finding I have a few that I enjoy seeing the paintings or sculptures they created. Such as
I just went to see the Salvador Dali Museum in St Petersburg, FL a few months back and took a liking to him. I also enjoy seeing the many paintings from Monet. So I was curious as to who everyones favorites were.

I like Monet and John Singer Sargent. I guess I like Impressionism. I also think I like Sargent because he painted a lot of people. I’ve always liked portraits.

Gauguin. Breath taking work. The sacrifices he made to create are amazing.

Read Noa Noa or some of his “Savage Writings.”

    definitley van gogh

i love his style, unlike any artist before him
i also am intrigued by the fact that he was depressed and suicidal and still managed to create the most beautiful paintings.
