Who would you consider your favorite Artist?

I’m just starting to learn of the many different Artists throughout history up to present time and finding I have a few that I enjoy seeing the paintings or sculptures they created. Such as
I just went to see the Salvador Dali Museum in St Petersburg, FL a few months back and took a liking to him. I also enjoy seeing the many paintings from Monet. So I was curious as to who everyones favorites were.

I like Monet and John Singer Sargent. I guess I like Impressionism. I also think I like Sargent because he painted a lot of people. I’ve always liked portraits.
Egon Schiele
Gauguin. Breath taking work. The sacrifices he made to create are amazing.
Read Noa Noa or some of his “Savage Writings.”

I love all of these artists, you can look them up, I think you will find them interesting
monet of course and of course diego rivera
In terms of painting: Daumier, Lucien Freud, Norman Rockwell, Sam Scherer, Jasper Johns, Rothko, Ed Ruscha, lol Banksy
Sculpture: Giacometti, Rodin, Tom Friedman, Anish Kapoor, Henry Moore, Maya Lin, Andy Goldsworthy
depending what styles you’re into (ps, best is tom friedman….except for kapoor…nvmnd just look them all up lol )
Frida Kahlo is another Surrealist you might like, she was pretty amazing at putting her emotions on canvas

i love his style, unlike any artist before him
i also am intrigued by the fact that he was depressed and suicidal and still managed to create the most beautiful paintings.

I love Harald Sohlberg, Gustav Klimt, Odilon Redon — Laura Owens is a wonderful contemporary artist, and of course, the lovely Toulouse Lautrec. Yum!
