how do people make those awesome sand sculptures without them falling apart?

me and my family have a sand sculpting competition every year
I’m tired of my uncle winning every damn year!!
i want to learn how the professional guys do their stuff
some tips or a website or even a good book on how to do it will be greatly appreciated

    Would wax help? Do you do it at the beach. Wax would probably not work out in the sun.
